Fried Chicken Shawarma Recipe

We tried Laura in the Kitchen’s version of the sauce.

Marinade:
Chicken fillets / breasts / boneless thighs
Cumin seeds
Coriander seeds
Chicken masala
Garlic cloves
Olive oil

Shawarma sauce:
Yogurt
Olive oil
2 cloves garlic (minced)
1/2 tsp cumin powder
Juice of 1/2 lemon

Garnish
Cucumber (diced)
Tomatoes (diced)

Roast cumin and coriander seeds. Pound them along with olive oil, garlic. Put the chicken masala for additional heat. Rub it on the chicken and marinate preferably overnight or 4 hours.

Mix all the ingredients for the sauce and set aside.

Fry or grill the chicken and chop in bite-sized pieces.

Put some chicken in pita bread, garnish with cucumbers, tomatoes and put the sauce. Enjoy.

VERDICT
WILL: Abbey found a new way to entice our tastebuds with his new version of wrapped chicken. Well, now it is called "Chicken Shwarma". Surprised? Haha!

With simple twitch and add of cumin powder for the sauce he revolutionized our old chicken wrap! Sweetness, saltines and yumminess in one!

You do not need to deprive yourself with a tasteless food just to have a healthy meal! Cook this at home.

Stuff'd - Mexican. Turkish. Delicious.

ABBEY: When we did grocery after office and have no time to cook, we stopped by Stuff'd in basement of Waterway point. Quesadillas ran out so I got beef and chicken burrito.I said to add more cheese and then realized that's why quesadillas is not available :)

In the burrito, there were rice, beans, guacamole and hot sauce. Within seconds, it was wrapped and we're ready to go. When we got back, we hurriedly munch on it. It was delicious. The ingredients blended well and the hot sauce gave some kicks. Next time I'll try the quesadillas.

Yeah, the second time we went quesadillas is available. The wrap was put in the grill and topped with cheese. Then for the fillings I got tomato, lettuce, cucumber chicken. I picked habanero and mayo cucumber for the sauce. I'm salivating when it being wrapped; can't wait to start eating it.

At home, yes, it was delicious like the burrito. Not bad for SGD8.8.

WILL: Who in here that experienced cravings for a shawarma? I know I am not alone. *wink-wink* And that is why my heart is overflowing of joy once my husband or I is somewhere near at Tampines, in that we can but some of the affordable shawarma.

Luckily, Stuff'd decided to establish a store at Punggol Waterway. Nearer I can say have a delectable taste of sauces. What's my favorite? Their chicken shawarma with splashed with habanero sauce and mayo-cucumber. Yummmmmm!!!

It became a habit that this is our dinner for almost every Friday. Haha! Try it. Warning! Long queue on dinner time. :)

EPIKebabs - Meaty, Juciy, Epic (Tampines)

ABBEY: After dining out, we went to EPIKebabs for take aways. For 6SGD, I got a roll of mixed chicken and beef. It has chilli sauce and mayo. Maybe the shredded meats that I have in my roll are the ones closest to the heat as they were crunchy which gives added texture after every bite. It was good. It is as if I'm eating crispy chicken and beef :) They also put their shredded delights on sandwiches and rice. The branch we visited is on Century Square Mall Level 1.

WILL: When we are on our way for dinner to Sylog, we saw this stall just outside the Century Square mall. I am craving for shawarma for months already but I am very lazy to go to Clarke Quay to buy some. So when I saw this stall, I immediately asked Abbey to buy a pair for our midnight snack.

Well, because of excitement to satisfy my cravings that was delayed long time, upon reaching our house, we ate it immediately. :)

Bite after bite EPIKebabs proved that their tagline is for real. It is meaty, juicy, epic and yummy. Now I do not need to head down to Clarke Quay for an expensive shawarma, I just need to make a stop here in EPIKebabs! :)
