Yardbird Singapore's MUST TRY SUNNY MORNING BREAKFAST SET | Marina Bay Sands Singapore Restaurant

ABBEY: Wilma was enticed of Yardbird’s waffles so we went there for a brunch and ordered a pair of Sunny Morning. Each set (36SGD) comes with freshly-squeezed juice, coffee or tea and one entrée. The juices are great: Green Giant (cucumber, celery, kale and honey) and Carotine Kicker (apple, orange, sweet potato and maple syrup). I preferred the former.

For the main I had Crispy chicken and egg biscuit sandwich. The serving is quite small but packs flavor. The melted cheese covered the succulent crispy chicken and really goes well with the biscuit.

Next time I’ll try the Chicken N Waffles N Watermelon.

WILL: Our siblings send us money to splurge on foods. So, this is the right time to spend without guilt. And one of our target restaurants way back 2019 is Yardbird located in The Shoppes of Marina Bay Sands. My goal is to taste test their famous waffles and the best time to eat those is on morning, so we booked a table and arrived around 1030am.

They have a $36 Sunny Morning Set and I chose to have Green Giant Juice, Salted Caramel Waffle and Hot Tea. The juice is impressive! Celery is not overwhelming amd the cucumber is refreshing! And that is my best waffle that I ever had. Not airy but packed and crispy! There is a tendecy that may get dry if you’re a slow eater like me. Haha! Just ask for syrup. Ok? The tea do not taste like burnt leaves.

Will be back? Yes of course! Next time will check the other food options like for dinner or lunch.

Natureland Spa Premium at Marina Bay Sands

ABBEY: At last after almost two years, our bodies got themselves a massage from a premium spa Natureland (Marina Bay Sands). Have a reservation before you head there. The session was 30 minutes behind the schedule but we got a nice couple room. I told the masseuse not to be fooled by Wilma’s built and they can give her a hard massage.

I enjoyed the neck cracking and “elbowing”. I felt my spine decompressed, my shoulders and calves relaxed. I was continuously asked if I’m OK, which I am. All the muscle stiffness is gone. I turned into a jelly. Haha.

We were given ginger tea and water after the session. Definitely recommended!

WILL: Natureland Spa branches are sprouting in many places in Singapore and one of their newest premier branch is at Marina Bay Sands.

We booked 4PM and arrived on time but I am not sure what happened and our schedule was pushed to 440pm. Before 5PM we are already at one of their couple room and we were handed a disposable underwears. The room, the sheets are clean and pleasantly smells. We chose exotic oil aroma for our massage.

Abbey advised my masseur that I need a hard massage and it is the start of my new life! Haha! The masseur frantically kneaded my back, my shoulder and side of my ribcage. It is a total relief. This is one if the few spa that I will give a 5-Stars. Haha!

Definitely will comeback by April.

Angelina Restaurant and Cafe in Singapore l Marina Bay Sands

ABBEY: Since the start of Christmas season, I suddenly have a craving for a hot chocolate. I picture it hot, creamy, slightly thick and rich in flavour.

It was satisfied by the signature chocolate of Angelina, L’Africain. But boy, it was priced at 13SGD. It was served on a tiny porcelain jug and whipped cream on the side. The taste of chocolate alone brings back memories and really fits the festive air. Adding the whipped cream makes it more thick and decadent. It is smooth till the last drop. I partnered it with egg croissant with smoked salmon.

But I’m telling you, the hot chocolate itself is enough. Try it and see for yourself.

WILL: Do you remember my post about the 18km morning walk for a breakfast? No? Please click this link below. Haha! Abbey is craving for a hot chocolate and he is feeling festive so we decided to get one of the best review hot chocolate in Singapore.. the Angelina at Marina Bay Sands. We walked for almost 4 hours. Great right?

Angelina is a French Cafe and they pride themselves on their hot chocolate. What can I say? Please continue on what you are doing with your creamy, smooth, not so sweet yet not bitter hot chocolate drink. They have a good partnering of black coffee and whip cream. I am awaken on this kind combination.

Their Éclair caramel beurre salé reminds me of eclair candy in the Philippines. Nostalgic and perfect to my black creamy coffee.

Totally a good way to indulge!

Truefitt & Hill Barbershop in Singapore

ABBEY: Talking  about man-pampering, my wife gave me a makeover when we went to Truefitt and Hill Barbershop at Marina Bay Sands. You’ll be in Sherlock-time scene once you enter the shop.

My barber, Alam is very kind to give suggestions on how can I have a better look. “Alam” is a Filipino word which translates to “know”. Alam really knows his stuff. I got a great hairstyle, a trimmed and shaved beard and mustache.

Not only that, I also had the whole work; shampoo, cold and hot towels as well as a massage. I’m warning you all of these didn’t come cheap. They cost almost 200SGD. But it’s really worth the value for your money with the service and experience. Definitely putting this on my budget.

WILL: Abbey always treats me to a salon. He does have a budget for my hair regimen every year. Hmmm, I do not have that budget. Why? Men are not so picky who will manage thair mane right? Well..WRONG! As part of Abbey’s 10th year celebration here in Singapore, I booked him to a barbershop that holds a Guinness Book Of Records of the oldest barbershop, the Truefitt & Hill.

Truefitt & Hill has a branch at Marina Bay Sands and Duke of Edinburgh — is one of the profiles they are serving. Wow! A Royal! Please free up a 2 hours of your day to enjoy the full experience of it. I can see that my husband is totally pampered that time.

A Royal Hair Cut SGD 75 and Shave SGD80. It is a total makeover and indeed a new look for him. Everybody was shockingly amazed on the transformation. Haha! Thanks Alam for making my husband so gwapo.

Canton Paradise | Marina Bay Sands

ABBEY: We were craving for porridge so we were on a hunt for one at The Shoppes (Marina Bay Sands). A minute after opening, we entered Canton Paradise. It gives you the feel of splendor with their white and bright ambiance.

I got a bowl of Handmade Meatball Congee and a serving of you tiao. The unique thing with the porridge is they put fresh coriander leaves on top. I didn’t know that it can be a good combination. The porridge rice is so soft that you just have to slurp it like a thick soup. Definitely our cravings were satisfied.

Canton Paradise | Marina Bay Sands
WILL: We are around Marina Bay Sands, and the best restaurant to serve a porridge is Canton Paradise.

I ordered century egg congee with shredded pork. Gosh! This is the porridge I am looking for. Well, what kind? I like it when the rice looks like just it is out from a pressure cooker. That it seems the water and rice married each other and you do not need to chew. Haha. And take note, you do not need any condiments to enhance it. It has a total flavour. The pork, it is tender.

Spend your time for a peaceful lunch with the view of Marina Bay. Enjoy life guys!

Black Tap Craft Burgers & Beer | Marina Bay Sands

ABBEY:  Video Review

Black Tap Craft Burgers & Beer | Marina Bay Sands

WILL: We usually go for a buffet but lately our stomachs can’t handle too much food at once, so we went for ala-carte fastfoood. It is Abbey’s birthday and his wish is my command, burger for a 35-year old man! Haha!

Black Tap creates a buzz here in Singapore due to it’s instagrammable milkshakes. But is the taste and money worth it?

I ordered lamb burger (non-halal certification). Yeah, it is a real lamb meat. The distinctive aroma and taste is there! Patty is soft and thick. Yea, worthy for it’s price! Each plate comes with fries. Their french fries have no space for air. Haha. I finished the patty, the greens, half bun and 1/4 of the fries. I need to have space for milkshake.

The milkshake is creamy and sweet. Darn good! It is pricey but that comes with a huge chunk of a slice of cake.

Yes! Definitely I will go back here. Haha! Hope they will be having a burger day too! 🤗

Black Knight Hotpot - Lunch Deals at Marina Bay Sands

ABBEY's Video Review:

WILL: The showtime for Lion King is unsual for dinner time. We will ran out of time if we will dine after the show. Therefore, we ate our late lunch at Black Knight at Marina Bay Sands. Sounds expensive right? Wrong! An appetizer, main course and dessert cost us not more than $35.00.

Black Knight Hotpot have their lunch deals Monday-Sunday and this is indeed a big saving for people who wants to roam around at MBS and eat at a luxurious-peaceful place. Please skip the queue at the hawker stalls near the ice skating rink and head over at this place.

For days I am drooling for fish head curry but that will drill a hole to our monthly budget. Haha. Happily saw that they are offering it for half the cost of other restaurants are serving.

The taste of their fish curry head? Yum! Yum! Yummmm! The creamy soup has this sweet and yet have a kick of spiciness. They have a good portion of vegetables. The fish?  What fish? The fish is tender and fresh that it took me few minutes to take all the meat out of its fish bones.

This is a romantic place for you to indulge your date! Go ahead! Book at Black Knight now!

Spectra – Light & Water Show - Marina Bay Sands

ABBEY: Spectra replaced Wonder Full light and water show at Marina Bay. But it seems it didn’t surpass the latter.

We watched its first show but the climax died down at the end and expecting that there is something more when it ended. I was hoping that the centerpiece will somehow go for fireworks or get lights with water spray, but it just changes light.

It lacked story and excitement.

Spectra – Light & Water Show - Marina Bay Sands

WILL: Wonder Full bid goodbye to its audience for this year. But some ending makes a way for a new beginning. So Spectra came to life.

We where there to witness the premiere of this show and every audience is expecting a lot on this new MBS water and light show.

We were awed by the colorful lights but there is a missing piece on that show. Hmm, maybe because Wonder Full have a story and Spectra is all about displaying of lights.

Anyways, thank you Marina Bay Sands for this free Water and Light Show!

Pizzeria Mozza @Marina Bay Sands The Shoppes

ABBEY: I don't know where would I date Wilma on Hearts' day. But then I remembered that she wants pizza a lot and she told me that she wanted to dine at Pizzeria Mozza at Marina Bay Sands' The Shoppes one day. So Pizzeria Mozza it is.

Reservations (phone or mail) can be done a month before your date and I booked it at 6PM. I asked for the Hearts' day special and surprisingly there is none.

We ordered three items close to 100SGD: bruschette with wild musrhrooms, spinach, chilies etc, Salame pizza and Lasagne al forno (beef lasagna).

The Italian food is very aromatic, appetizing and delicious. I can still recall the oil dripping on my hand while eating. The pizza was cooked in a brick oven. By the way they are not having chilli sauce, else it will be American version. Got a good conversation with my baby on a candle-lit dinner.

They also serve wine and desserts.

WILL: I am always eyeing to eat in here but we always never get the chance. 2016's hearts day, my husband made it happened. I am so excited, Abbey did the reservation for this occasion.

The serving is good for two. A little candle lit in the middle of every table and it gave a romantic mood for the whole place.

I am shocked when we have a bite in each of the food! It is bursting with flavours! I want to eat more but the food is too heavy for my tummy, haha! Try the Raspberry Tea.

The service is 10/10, food 10/10 and place 10/10. We will surely be going back in here.

Cavalia Singapore at The White Big Top (Marina Bay Sands)

ABBEY: I only see horses doing a performance in a circus show on television. Never seen a live one until last Sunday, 31st of August. It was shown in a large white tent adjacent to The Shoppes (Marina Bay Sands). The show starts at 5:30 but doors were open an hour early. In the tent lobby were Cavalia's merchandise from posters, pendants, plush toys and shirts. Snacks like popcorn, hotdog buns, and nachos were sold as well as drinks like sodas and wine.

Before the show starts, Q & A portion is there. Audience will participate by raising their hands when their answers will be flashed on the screen. I only got one correct answer. Fyi, all the horses are male. All expressed their awe when the first horse came out. No saddles, no strings. Lots of tricks and stunts were displayed. The "horse whisperers" did a great job. One trick that really impressed me is when the trainor guided six horses to jump a hurdle while standing on their backs. Last scene is when the stage was half-filled with ankle-deep water. Running on water, it gave these wonderful creatures more grace while moving.

It is not only horses that were shown but acrobats as well. Backflips, formations and gymnasts stunts were everywhere. All in all the performance is great; so great that it was extended until 28th of September.

WILL: The horses are amazing, their trainers don't even need to spank the stallions for them to obey. It seems that the horses and the men and women at the stage really understood each other.

They are traveling around the globe and its first stop here in Asia is in The Red Dot and I will be so dumb to let this opportunity pass by. The tickets was sold like pancakes and the show was extended for few more weeks.

31st of August we walked our way in to the big white tent of Cavalia beside The Shoppe. We were greeted by their mechandise; tshirts, stuffed toys and more memorabilias. At 5pm, gate was open and we waited for 15 minutes and a Cavalia quiz starts. It so fun that almost all of the audience participated on it. Fun facts that shocked me that they only have stallions and geldings in show. No mares allowed. Haha

The performance started by a very fast running horse. Gosh! Chills! The stunts, the live musical scoring and of course the horses. It is magical.

Thanks baby for sparing some of your time to be with me that night. Abbey is so busy! But he can't reject this because I paid for it. Haha!

The Phantom of the Opera (Singapore) at MasterCard Theatres at Marina Bay Sands

ABBEY: Me, Wilma and our friends went to see Phantom of the Opera at MasterCard Theaters at Marina Bay Sands on its last day of performance. At the theater lobby we took some snaps and prepare ourselves for the show.

It started at 8pm. Once the lights went out, all became silent and anticipated the first scene. I don't know if it is just me having not enough sleep and my hearing got affected, it seemed that the sound is low. But when the Phantom started singing, he got my full attention.

The acoustic is great that you can feel the dynamics of their voices especially when the Phantom became angry. You can feel that he hovers on to the place. The effects was good as well. It helped me feel more the intensity of the emotions. As the performance is superb, they got standing ovation from the audience.

WILL: This is our second chance for us to get a ticket from Sistic. Well, when Marina Bay Sands announced an extension for Phantom of the Opera show, Abbey and I immediately decided to get th last day ticket at 8pm.

As I say, I am fond of seeing plays, and we are so blessed to have some spare money to check-out this broadway show that traveled long wayto go here in Singapore.

How good is it? They made me cry! The sounds, the music, the acts is so perfect that will touch my stone-cold heart.

Next time they visit Singapore, it is a must to watch this play.. ;)
