S.E.A. AQUARIUM (Singapore) Marine Life Park

ABBEY: Many times we talked about going to SEA Aquarium in Sentosa and we planned it when my sister went to Singapore for a visit. We came across an online promo; 50sgd for 2-adult compared to 38 per pax for regular days. Children under 4 years of age can enter for free.

The places I like is the two tunnels; one exhibiting sharks and the other sting rays. The jellyfish really caught my attention. They were in a tank wherehe light varies from color to color. It was being reflected on the jellyfish as if it is their natural colors. Also their motion is graceful; taking time in roaming on the water.

The giant viewing deck which resembles an auditoruim gives you a good view on life on water. I'm big and tall but standing next to the giant creatures made me a dwarf. This is a good place to go specially for kids.

WILL:  Welcome to Singapore, Armas Family! Supposedly they are going to visit us 2 years ago but some great and happy thing happened that cancels their tour. And that is DomDom.This evolved mainly for the enjoyment of little DomDom that is why we skipped the Universal Studios of Singapore and went kids-friendly/educational tour.

First stop, S.E.A. Aquarium at Resorts World Sentosa. This is the world's biggest aquarium before China beat it last year. It housed a lot of marine creatures that you can ever imagine.

From the big walls of glasses, you can feel the greatness of the sea. The awesome and unique inhabitants of it and pretty perfect fishes.

Here I saw live Nemo, Dory, and the cute fish from the past show "Songs of the Sea".

Sharks will say hello to you, sting rays, the graceful dolphins, eels, and even the jelly fish will enlighten your day.

We also saw some of the crews cleaning the glasses from the inside. Haha, it reminds me of the aquarium of my Tita Cely when I was young.

A nice place for your children. It won't take a whole day for you to check this out. Oh, they have a current promotion of 2 tickets for $50. Nice deal right? Click here to find out more.

Starz Restaurant (Hard Rock Hotel Singapore, Lobby)

ABBEY: Starz restaurant is located at the ground floor of Hard Rock Hotel in Sentosa. I first came to know about it when we fetch Wilma's cousin during her stay at Singapore. My wife told me that there is a promo offered by the restau; and it was a buffet :) It rained hard that day but it didn't deter us to go there. Rain or shine the feast will go on. We were there 30 minutes early. We used the time to take pictures of the food that we will later munch on. The layout of the place is a long curves one with touches of black, violet and other relaxing colors.

By the time the buffet starts I hurried to the Indian cuisine station and grabbed a couple of papad and prata. On the Western side, I had chunks of roasted chicken and a slice of roast beef. The beef was moist and flavorful as well as the chicken. On the next batch I got hainanese chicken and pork belly which reminds me of lechon skin :) I also indulged in their sweet watermelon. It goes well with roasted pork belly; salty and sweet. Then I wrap up the dinner with a cup of chocolate gelato.

Coffee and tea is free flow as well. The buffet costs $36 per person.

WILL: It was a rainy 7th of May, when Abbey and I decided to go to Sentosa to avail the dinner buffet of Starz Restaurant of Hard Rock Hotel. Well who can resist a buy-one, take-one offer? We grabbed it for only $72 for two.
We arrived early and we waited for 10 minutes for the chefs to get all the food be ready for our attack, haha! When the go signal was on, I immediately went to sushi stand and put some on my plates. Their sushi is quite too cold and the rice is quite hard. Then, I walked my way to the western cuisine, as usual white pasta is more alluring on my eyes, while Abbey went for red sauce. I asked the man behind the counter to slice some beef for me, and the beef is so tasty. Indian cuisine will not be out, so I ordered a cheese prata, too oily. I say hello to fresh oysters and some prawns. It seems that all people that night went to Starz for those sea creatures! Haha!
To help my stomach to grind the food I am intaking, I constantly drink hot tea.
The restaurant ambiance is quite romantic and the place is not so crowded, unlike the hotels' restau located at Orchard.
We were there for 4 hours until we know that our digestive system is full by their food! Ha!

Marine Life Park | Adventure Cove Water Park | Resorts World Sentosa

ABBEY:  This the second water park that we visited in Singapore. Adventure cove is in Sentosa Island. Alight at Waterfront station and then walk your way to the Maritime musuem; a little bit more and then you'll reach Adventure Cove. The fee is $29 per adult and $20 for a child. Lockers are priced at 10 and 20sgd for a day. The largest is big enough to store items of a 3-4pax-group just like we had.

Before getting wet we strolled the park and posed for snaps. There are 6 water attractions aside from the dolphin and sting rays shows. First is the wave pool, Bluewater Bay. As usual the people will flock once the wave comes in then will disperse once the waves are gone as well. In this water attraction are the cavannas (rent is 128sgd). It has curtains on all sides for privacy and has its own shower. But you can have a free cavanna at Seahorse Hideaway just across the Bluewater Bay.

Then we tried Dueling Racer. In this you will ride a foam board and slide headfirst. You will be pitted against an "opponent" on the other track. First one to plunge and finish wins. We also tried Riptide Rocket. You will be taken up thru a conveyor then you'll plunge onto the slide. This process repeats for 3 times. Looks like you are in a roller coaster ride. After that, we went to Pipeline Plunge and Tidal Twister. These rides will send you twisting and turning on great speed which is thrilling.

I was excited when I knew that we'll be snorkling. Rainbow Reef offers a chance to any swimmer to interact on 20,000 colorful fish. Sadly sea water got inside my goggles making me panic. But it was a good try. The water is cold and deep. For other people who doesn't want to snorkle, you can buy fish food for a dollar and feed them at the edges of the water tank. We bought corndog and hotdog sandwich for lunch on a food cart. But Adventure Cove also has the Bay Restaurant for more choices. You can also easily find a table within the park. After lunch we relaxed on Adventure river. It tours you along the theme park and gives relaxation while lying down on your lifebuoy. The last 2 attractions we tried are Whirlpool Washout (giant water drain) and Spiral Washout (giant funnel).

We didn't try the Splashworks as we don't know how to swim :) It is the part of the park where you can dive as the pools are 4 meters deep. You can have your balancing act on a balance beam or cross a tightrope. Last stop is the big bucket tree house. We waited until the bucket fills up and enjoyed the water splash above our heads.

Swimming apparels and souvenirs are available at Reef N Wave wear at the park's entrance. This is a good way to quench the heat of summer.

WILL: My birthday is on summer and school holiday, and yearly my mom celebrated it with a big splash... Literally splash. It is somewhat an event to look forward to, not only by my siblings but also by mom's employees' family. So here in Singapore, I brought that, now not only for my birthday but also for our wedding anniversary.
Some people think that Singapore is a boring place, do you feel it too? Well for me and my husband, we always see to it that every month we will be going somewhere we never been in Singapore. So on month of April, we say hello to Sentosa's new family attraction... The Adventure Cove.
I am so excited for that 8th of April, not for me to swim but to fulfill my adrenaline side needs. I am ecstatic to the slides featured in their website.
We bought the ticket for $29 each. We rented a one big locker for $20 and as soon we locked our things, we started to roam around to take photos and make a plan where to go first, but when Chat saw the Rainbow Reef she immediately asked if she can swim with 20000 fish. I agreed and Abbey joined her, not more than 2 minutes Abbey asked the lifeguard for help and he was taken out from the water.
We went to our lockers and put in our camera. I am here for the slides so I am so excited to take some adrenaline rush slides. Firstly we went to Dueling Racer, Abbey and Chat wants to back-out but they are already in the queue and I keep on telling them that they can make it...that they will enjoy each and every ride. Actually this slide is shorter than the one in Splash Island. Its our turn and I told both of them to go first, to make sure that they will slide down. Hehe.
Then we tried the first hydro-magnetic coaster...the Riptide Rocket. It really made me screamed and my heart pumped up a lot. This is really fun. Whirpool Washout, Pipeline Plunge, Spiral Washout was covered. We then take the opportunity to play with the waves at Bluewater Bay.
As our tummies protesting, we decided to eat some hotdogs and take our food and soda at Seahorse Hideaway. There we watched the kids having fun with fountains.
I want to accomplish something so I want to conquer one of my fear. Fear to swim with the fish. Well, I failed. Not more than 2 minutes in the water, I yelled for help. Help to take me out from the large sea water aquarium.
As we waited for Chat to finish her date with school of fish, we look on around at Splashworks. After that, we decided to checkout the Adventure River. This is really a nice thing, the best part is when the sting rays seems hitting on me. The same sting ray keep on following me.
Like a child we waited for the water to rush down on us at the Big Bucket Tree House. Before packing up, we decided to ate some snacks and walked our way to the second floor to for us to relax and see the dolphins from above. Half an hour we already packed and ready to go to 8 Noodles located at Shangri-La's Rasa Sentosa Resort & Spa.

Chili's Singapore Big Mouth Burger Day 2012

ABBEY: Chili's celebrated its big-mouth burger day by an offer of 8.8sgd per burger. I got their Southern Smokehouse Bacon Big Mouth Burger . It comes with couple of handful of fries.

It was great. I'm so full after finishing mine and Wilma's Oldtimer. Free flow  of soda is at 7sgd. Chili's also offers cocktails, pasta, chicken burgers, tacos and quesadillas. We visited their branch at Resorts World Sentosa.

WILL: Chili's celebrated the Big Mouth Burger Day last 27th of June. That was the 2nd year when burger lovers here in Singapore rejoicing and indulging to the $8.88 (U.P. $25.00 and above) thick beef patties. After office, we hurriedly went to Chili's Resorts World Sentosa branch to fill in our growling stomachs.

I asked to have the Oldtimer($17.00) while Abbey had the Southern Smokehouse Bacon Big Mouth Burger ($23.00). So from that price, you will know the reason why this is our first time to dine in here. Ha!

When I saw the burgers, humongous! It just suffice it price. It has a some fries on its side. The taste is awesome, extremely delicious. The patty is so juicy and really tasty. Onions, pickles, tomato, lettuce and mustard really a teamed-up for mouth watering delight. That day was really a tummy overload. I ate 3/4 and my spare, I asked Abbey to finish it for me.

The branch is relaxing. The view is of kids playing outside while your favorite music is on track, serenading your ears. Staffs are approachable.  Recommendable. Nice place for family to dine-in.

Sentosa Flower Festival 2012

ABBEY: The festival ran from 22nd up to 29th of January at Sentosa. After office we went on the island. It lightly rained on that day but we still managed to enjoy the exhibit. The flower displays were so beautiful that people flocked at the site to take pictures. From my view that day the crowd outnumbered the flowers.
There's so many visitors that you have to wait for 30 minutes for Sentosa Express at Vivo City mall. In each station the queue is very long. We have to walk the entire way to the festival back and forth. Special thanks to the marshals and volunteers for organising the event. No incident happened on our day of visit.
Flowers in the shape of hearts, dragons, big flowers, fish are among the displays. Official photographers will take a snap of you with Sentosa's cameras and yours.

WILL: Yearly, sentosa celebrates the Flower Festival. What can we expect? Flowers!!! A lot of it. :)
I really do like flowers but I do not have the green thumb to grow them unlike my husband huhu.
Anyways congrats Sentosa! I think almost half of the people here in Singapore went here to see this magnificent floras. :)
Amazed us more next year and I hope it wont rain. Hehe.
