Budget-Friendly Japanese Tonkatsu: Discover Katsu-AN at Suntec City!

ABBEY: We went here for a couple of times and they didn’t disappoint (except maybe for the queue). They offer a katsu bowl along with soup, drink and shredded cabbage and seasonal vegetable. Enough to fill you up. The katsu is tender; you can even put yellow mustard along with it.

Don’t foget the sesame dressing on the cabbage. There is pickled ginger to clean the pallet. Slurp their umami miso soup and wash them all down with cold tea. Talk about katsudon and this is a recommended place.

Super Sub At Suntec City : Chicken and Soya Hotdog

ABBEY: We’ve seen SuperSub at Suntec. Curiosity told me to try it. Next thing I know is I’m paying for my Classic Gourmet Hotdog sub (5.80SGD). It also came with a serving of nachos.

The filling is up to the brim. You’ll get messy upon eating it. The hotdog is chicken hotdog which also taste good along with my mayonnaise-sriracha sauce. Their concept is almost the same with Stuffed and Subway.

Super Sub At Suntec City : Chicken Hotdog - Good Ol' Classic

WILL: It was a long time since we set our foot at Suntec City. So we are quite amused that there are many food outlets added at the basement and one of those is Super Sub. Abbey loves hotdog in a bun but Super Sub go to the next level. Imagine a subway-like hotdog topped with different relishes!

I am quite disappointed with their Truffle Egg Mayo but totally fell in love with Good Ol’ Classic. Love all the toppings on it. Their hotdog is only chicken but the good news is they have a vegetarian soy hotdog at no additional cost.
This is an another food worth visiting at Suntec City.

HarriAnns Nonya Table at Suntec City

ABBEY: A restaurant popped up at ground floor of Suntec Tower 5: HarriAnns Nonya Table. We dined there and I ordered one of the all-day breakfast set; Chiffon cake and eggs.

The cake is fluffy and not too sweet. Perfect for my kopi. I even tried to eat the cake with the eggs and surprisingly it taste good. Salty, sweet, hot and fluffy; what a breakfast.

WILL: There is still an aftershock of a peranakan meal that NEM boss and I ate at Orchard Hotel so I requested Abbey to dine at the newly opened eatery at Suntec, the HarriAnns Nonya Table.

I went for yam cake and guess what? This is the best yam cake I ever had. First of all, it is not oily, not breaking into chunks and the chili is perfect!

That is not a surprise that there is queue and all the tables are taken. Visit and try a Peranakan cuisine.

鼎鮮 Ding Xian Hot Pot - Personal Hotpot

ABBEY: Video Blog Below:

鼎鮮 Ding Xian Hot Pot - Personal Hotpot

WILL: Abbey rewarded me a hot steamy lunch after attended an goodiebag-packing with Children’s Societry at Ang Mo Kio.

Abbey and I dined at Din Xiang Hot Pot while determining what gimbal we should need to further hike up our blogging experience.

Din Xiang Hot Pot is one of the cheapest place to dine at Eat at Seven. We opted to choose Din Xian Hot Pot to get our individual steamboat.

Abbey ordered Herbal Bak Kut Teh Pork Land Soup and to fulfil my cravings for spicy and hot soup, I went for Blazing Magma Mermaid's Trove Soup.

With a rainy day and hot and spicy soup! Oh! What a life! Blazing Magma do not failed my expectation. It is spicy and creamy. Creamy! Not a watery soup. It is packed with seafood, tofu and mushroom! Healthy, yummy food indeed!

This place is totally recommended! If you are happen that working around Suntec, drop by at Din Xiang Hot Pot.

OMU - Japanese Omurice Restaurant Singapore at Suntec City Mall

ABBEY: The line is so long the first time we tried to eat at Omu. So we headed before the clock strikes noon. No queue.

I ordered curry sauce omurice with chicken cutlets - lava style (yes the one where the runny scrambled egg flows to the plate once it’s cut). The curry sauce is thick and has lots of flavor. However the breading of chicken cutlets has a little burnt taste and the still can see the raw batter inside.

WILL: Omu is a big craze of 2017 and we are a year late. Apologies for that readers. We made a stop at Omu located at Suntec City.

There are two choices. Ordinary and "Lava" Style. I chose the ordinary and Abbey got the other. The egg is creamy even it is not "Lava Style". My meal comes with (of course white sauce) cream sauce, spinach, salmon and corn. The sauce is delightfully rich. The salmon cooked with consistency. Half of this plate definitely will fill up your tummy! Yup, this is a heavy meal!

Go at Omu Rice is always packed with diners on lunch and dinner. Be aware of the timing. :)

Penang Place Restaurant - Quality Penang Food

ABBEY: Our first NEM meetup is at Penang Place (Suntec). I tried their fried rice set. It comes with crispy fried chicken wing, slices of cucumber, baby tomatoes, and pickled carrot, cucumber, ginger and radish.

The rice is a whole meal in itself. It has shrimps, egg, and vegetables. All the elements in my plate are complementing each other. I enjoyed the meal.

WILL: It's a meetup! NEMSG meets NEMPH! Wohoo! We celebrated over food at Penang Place at Suntec City.

I went for Asam Laksa. This taste is pretty near on the the one we ate at Kuala Lumpur. The aroma of delectable fish sauce heightens the taste of its thick soup. Yum! Noodles were firm and not overcooked.

If a bowl is not enough for you? They are offering a buffet.

Just Dough (Bun & Soup) - Suntec City Singapore

ABBEY: When we shoot Fountain of Wealth for our Singapore Flash Foward series, we found Just Dough bakery. It was recently opened and they're handing out samples.

Without understanding what the staff is saying I grabbed a piece and put it on my mouth. I realized a familiar taste: shrimp. Haha. The staff got nervous when I told about my allergy. Who would have thought that the "siopao" can have tons of variations. We bought curry chicken, cream cheese, and cheesy chicken for not more than 2.60SGD a piece.

The cream cheese tasted the best. The bakery also offers cakes. The takeaway buns should be resteamed before eating.

WILL: While walking at Suntec basement after our Singapore FlashForward shot at Fountain of Wealth, Abbey suddenly stopped and looked into a store offering steamed buns. He was given a sample that have shrimp (he is allergic to that) and the girl who offered that was so shocked when I informed her about my husband's allergy and it seems she wanted Abbey to spit it out. Haha.

Anyways, we bought some of its variants. For only $1.90 I got to enjoy their Fruit Cheese bun. It is yummy that one is not enough. I like their Cheesy Chicken too.

This is a great alternative on burgers or doughnuts for snacks or high teas. You will never go wrong on any flavors of this. :)

I got to buy more when I got a chance to visit Suntec again.

Shabu Sai – Japanese Shabu-Shabu & Sukiyaki Hotpot (Suntec City Branch) - Set Meal

ABBEY: The day has come for our team to move to a new office. After a couple of years in Suntec Tower 5, we're invading Hansapoint. So as a last hurrah, I asked my wife to have dinner at Shabu Sai in Suntec City Mall. We only ordered ala carte instead of buffet. It only took a couple of minutes then our food was served.

I had Sukiyaki Hotpot Set which comes with California Maki and soba. For 13.99GD, I'm very full. The food is delicious and flavorful.

WILL: Abbey requested to meet him at Suntec City, his office location for more than 4 years (their office moved to other location) and a place for people who love to eat. Did you know that Fountain of Wealth was surrounded by huge array of restaurants? Well-diversified place for you to choose your dinner.

We went for Shabu Sai for our last dinner date at Suntec. This is well known for its cheap buffet but please take in mind that they also offer set meals. I had Chicken Oyakoni. For people who love sweet food, c'mon and visit the place. Even though I am more inclined to salty food, I liked what they serve. It clicked well with wasabi (I am drooling imagining the food, haha!).

If you want a value for money with a romantic back-drop restaurant...go ahead and take a seat at Shabu Sai. See you there on our next visit.

Teo Heng KTV Karaoke Studio - Suntec City Branch

ABBEY: Our highschool singer and friend, Marineth, got to visit Singapore again. And Wilma decided to have karaoke session. We booked a room at Teo Heng KTV in Suntec. It was a Friday night and the place was fully booked. Everybody wants to belt out their favorite tunes.

The room is clean and you can bring your own food. Just ensure that the room is the same before you use it. They also offers chips and drinks.

We found it difficult to search for songs. Even using the app is not helpful. I hope this can be looked at. Still we managed to sing some. We  played the songs of Maroon 5 and then catch up with Neth.

WILL: Chat and I were really far from each other and we want to meet her and our tourist friend half-way and on that we met at Suntec City.

Do not forget to make a reservation 2-3 days before your KTV session or you will end up queueing for hours.

Teo Heng KTV has a clean room and we were delighted to see some maracas and tambourine. We were given a microphone cover for added protection in spreading virus and bacteria. Oh! We carried our own food but bought the cold bottled water for only $1 at their counter.

For 3 hours ($16/hour), I do not know if we three are just dumb or the KTV machine is not really a user-friendly but it's hard to search for songs in the catalog. We downloaded their app and still do not help uplift our misery. Haha! Oh darn! We went over to other KTVs but this is the hardest machine to use in selecting, browsing or even searching for songs.

Anyways, we hit the M2M songs, Backstreet Boys, Maroon 5 and even the latest single of Justin Bieber. Ahm, would Abbey forget to sing some Parokya ni Edgar? Of course not!

Marineth S. Tongol arrived few minutes before our time is up, haha! She wanted to sing a Miley Cyrus but the song have an accompaniment. Haysss!

Do not forget to clean as you go guys!

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (Golden Village Suntec City)

ABBEY: Yey, twas the day I've been waiting for. I've heard and read a lot of reviews of the movie. Most of them are negative. Well for me, I just want to see my Superman fly and use his superpower against the villain. And this time its Batman. The scenes were all dimmed. Can we have other lighting effects? As usual Batman still cannot move on from the death of his parents. Also this Batman didn't apply his logic. He let his emotions be drowned by the teases of Lex Luthor. Since Superman was the one to be blamed for the alien attacks, he glued his conclusion that Superman is the enemy. Ayayay.

Jesse Eisenberg has the same way of acting; be it Batman v Superman, The Social Network, American Ultra. All the same. Be careful with that, you're Johnny Depp in the making. Stop that stuttering.

Gal Gadot as Wonderwoman is stunning. She has grand entrance on the climax of the movie. Can't wait for her own movie.

Movie rating : 7/10

WILL: I already earmarked the show date of Batman V Superman - Dawn of Justice since last year. Why? Superman is Abbey's favorite superhero. One week before the date, I booked at the newest cinema of Suntec City, the Golden Village.

I wish Batman is still played by Christian Bale, I wish for more action scenes, I wish that the 3-hour film is not a mess while explaining what is happening, I wish Batman and Superman is not portrayed stupidly in that movie.

My verdict? Do not waste your money.

The Rotisserie - Chicken & Gourmet Salads - Suntec City Branch

ABBEY: Before we head to our orchestra date, we went to The Rotisserrie (Suntec City Mall branch) for dinner. I got quarter-chicken breast part for less than 15SGD. It came with large serving of fries which almost overflowed in my plate.

I don't know if my order is half or quarter. The cut is bigger than any other quarter I saw. I preferred my chicken to be covered with gravy. It was very sumptuous; the chicken is not dry. If we're not running out of time, I'll be able to finish it up to the bones. Maybe some other time, we'll come back again.

WILL: We are about to try the McDonald's Breaded Salmon with Paella Spice Mix but on our way to their Suntec City branch The Rottiesiere's Angus Beef Burger Promotion caught my eye.

We go directly to the cashier, ordered and after few minutes a humungous burger and serving of fries ended up on my table. Gosh! Just seeing my plates made my tummy already full. Haha!

Anyways, their Black Angus Beef Burger with Bacon is awesome for the amount of $14 (inclusive of one side). I want to commend their all-smile staffs and their yummilicious gravy.

Oh! I already gave a group message to colleagues that they should go and dine in here. :)

Wang Jia Shan Jiao Bak Kut Teh

ABBEY: This bak kut teh shop has been in Suntec (Suntec City Mall B1-126-127) for many months now. Only when we were looking for a place to dine before going to The Future of Us exhibit got a time to taste their item. All the while I thought they are only serving coffee and tea as they took the place of Toast Box :)

For 10SGD, you have a bak kut teh soup, serving of youtiao, and a bowl of rice and a glass of barley. The soup is peppery and hot. I was sweating while eating it. Have a sip in the iced drink and your good.

WILL: Is there a day that you are longing to sip a nice soup? That was what I am experiencing those past few days and that when I saw of  Wang Jia Shan Jiao Bak Kut Teh  promotion of $10.00 dinner set.

Abbey and I happily approached the counter, ordered and took our food. Every sip is a piece of heaven. I like their Ba Kut Teh soup and the meat is so tender.

We finished it all and merrily went to our next destination. Hey! Bak Kut Teh should not break a bank. Try it!

Muthu's Curry - Suntec City Mall Singapore

ABBEY: I first set my foot on Muthu's Curry at Suntec. It was when my colleague celebrated the arrival of his first child. It was really a treat. So from that moment, I want my wife to dine here.

First, there's unlimited papadum which is really her favorite. Second, they have butter chicken. Third, the food taste great. We dined and ordered Dum Biryani (11sgd) and butter chicken. The biryani rice is aromatic and flavorful. It was served with raita (yogurt, onion and carrots) and chicken curry sauce. I wasn't expecting the serving of butter chicken that small which costs 12sgd. But it didn't stop Wilma to order another bowl of biryani rice. And we got a couple of bowls of papadum.

WILL: I managed to come up with the decision what I will eat for dinner when I reached Abbey's office that night. I chose to buy some hot fish noodles but when I met my husband he announced that we will eat at Muthu's Curry. I protested for the idea but when he informed me that there is unlimited papadum there, I smiled and agreed.

I ordered buttered chicken...?delicious!! How delicious? I asked for an extra rice and it is my first time. I love their self-served papadum. It is not oily.

The price is quite expensive though. Anyways, this place is very recommendable. Find them at Suntec City at Fountain of Health dining area.

The House of Robert Timms: 1-for-1 Dining Deal

ABBEY: The House of Robert Timms caters Australian cuisine and just in time, DBS is offering a 1-for-1 deal. So we headed to their branch at Suntec City.

I got honeyed chicken burger. It took a couple of minutes to be served but the long wait is worth it. I got tender, sweet and juicy chicken between the burger buns. It was fresh and delicious.

I hope they can somehow lower the prices; just a suggestion. They also have coffees, pies, and pasta.

WILL: Robert Timms is throwing a promotion of 1-for-1. I am eyeing to dine in to one of their restaurants since the start of 2015 and this will be a good deal indeed. Unplanned date last 9th of July when we went in to their Suntec City branch.

I ordered Che esy Veggielicious Lasagne. The food arrived quite late. It seems that we are waiting for forever. Haha! Abbey is getting irritated that time but when the food arrived and started to eat, I just can tell that it is worth the wait. Haha!

Their pasta is firm, the sauce is creamy and the vegetable??? seems I am eating a pasta with a meat.

This will surely include in one of the restaurant that served me an excellent white sauce pasta. We'll definitely come back for more.

Morganfield's Singapore - Bar & Grill · Barbecue Restaurant

ABBEY: Seriously, Morganfields, are you serving this food? That was my reaction when I claimed a full slab of Sticky Bones.

Wilma and I won full slab of Sticky Bones worth 39.90SGD++. This is part of Morganfield's opening promotion at Suntec City Mall. You just have to submit of your creative pose with their BIG picture of pork ribs on their store. I submitted the snap in which I'm proposing to it.

I ordered Hickory BBQ spare ribs. It came with fries and coleslaw. I thought I can finish half of it, but I can't. It is just too big for me. In the end, we brought it home and have that as dinner for couple of days :). I gave an advice to the guests beside us to order only half-slab as I overheard them asking themselves if they will get half or full. The meat is very soft and is peeling out of the bones. They handed us a bib because eating it will gonna be messy. The sauce will be over your mouth and fingers.

WILL: Happy 4th Anniversary to "We'll Tell You - A&W Couple's Blog"! And now we have a good time at Morganfield’s Singapore newest branch at Suntec City.

Abbey and I won a full slab and decided to get it both in one visit. Humungous meat was served right in front of us. Gosh, I am like the real Wilma of Flinstones eating a dinosaur-sized pork. Haha! I got their Tuscan Baked Spicy Spare Ribs and it is not that spicy. The flavour is superb! The taste is up to its bones. A lip-smacking experience!

I ate only 1/8 of the full slab and take home the rest. After re-heating in microwave, the juiciness is still intact! A very good food partnered with steaming hot rice. Hmmm, can we suggest to make some rice for sides? Please Morganfield’s! J

Till our next visit! Oh, FYI, I love your bib! My husband is quite messy on eating! Thanks guys for free 1kg slab!
