Café De Muse at Shaw House | 24 Hours Cafe in Orchard

ABBEY: After a hearty Japanese lunch, we went to Cafe de Muse to have our caffeine fix. I had Vanilla Latte. It taste like my childhood drink Sustagen.

A bit disappointed though as I’m expecting more coffee flavor at the bottom. I thought the vanilla taste will fade as a drink it but turns out it drowned the espresso shot. I also tried their not-too-sweet ondeh ondeh cake. Other cakes like basque burnt cheesecake and black forrest are available.

Café De Muse at Shaw House - 24 Hours Cafe in Orchard

WILL: After our movie with Wonder Woman, we went to Muse Cafe to wash down our Japanaese cuisine lunch. Muse Cafe is 24-hour cafe located at the heart of Orchard. You can see them if you pass by at the Shaw building.

Their spot is perfect for people watching  Due to non-stop cravings of sweet and coconut bits, of course, Abbey and I ordered for their Ondeh-ondeh cake. It is YUM! The sweetness, creamy texture and the good amount of coconut bits were present. Ondeh-ondeh cake was partnered with pot of Muse Special tea. Perfect! Did I mention that their price point is lower and their serving size is bigger than your well-known cafe? This is a good place to visit whenever you are in Orchard.

Burger+ - Wisma Atria Branch

ABBEY: We went to Burger+ (Wisma Atria) branch but we backed out as the waiting time for a takeaway order is 2 hours. I saw my wife became sad. So on an ordinary day, I placed an order and boy she was surprised when she saw the food.

Actually it was not a surprise afterall as she saw my placement in my mail.

We got Bulgogi Hotdog (Pork), Vege Cheeseburger, and Korean Bulgogi burger. All those came with fries and drink. I like the packaging as it is very presentable even after delivery. It protected the food specially the fries. Speaking of fries, the truffle fries is flavorful and fragrant. You need to eat them as soon as you can as they will be hard if you keep it a long time. The burgers are juicy, moist and got the grilled taste.

You can never ask for more tomato or lettuce. They are all packed in the sandwich. Ready your dough as this will cost you.

WILL: Covid-19 gave a threat not only in tourism sector but also on food industry. You can’t dine in your favourite restaurants! Oh my! What’s the next step? Order a delivery!

Since every restaurant is only relying on food delivery and pick-up many of them came up with different promotions. One of them is Burger+.

Surprised me with a delivery. He ordered a pork bruger for me and a truffle fries. The pork burger is succulent yet not overcooked. The toasted bun has a distinctive taste of butter. The bag of delivery will be overwhelmed by the aroma of truffle fries.

It is indeed a treat for me! Facebook you won again! We ordered one of your sponsored ads! Haha. And of course, I want to shout to the world that until now my husband loves to surprise me.

Will we dine in to
Burger+? Yes! We will do 🙂

BOUNCE Singapore - A Massive Trampoline Park & Adrenaline Arena

ABBEY: When I first saw an ad about people jumping on trampolines, sure it was fun and cool. The tricks are enticing to do and it seems so easy. But reality hits when we went to Bounce (9th floor of Cineleisure Orchard).

We were given a pair of non-slip socks and waited for the earlier "Bouncers" to clear the place. We tried our skills in the Big Bag. It was hilarious. The trampoline is telling me that I don't have any rhythm in my body. The first jump was pathetic. But after few more tries, it improved as the staff told be to bend my knees a little bit.

I also tried the slam dunk. Yes, it was easy....on tv. But I struggled on the higher rim. So what I did I slam the ball in the lower one. That's a win. But the staff put me up to another challenge: to put the ball behind the knee then front then slam it. Seriously? Haha.

I didn't try the Wall bounce and X-Park. Too tired and I feel my knees are giving up. It was tiring but fun.

Dodgeball Arena

WILL: Abbey and I were eyeing for this place since they announced their opening date. Luckily, our friend Chat gave her interest too. Together with her boyfriend (Benigno Betasolo) we booked a schedule last Saturday, 2nd July.

We arrived early but just on time to check-in at their counter, sign a waiver on their iPads and change socks.

Exactly 2pm, we invaded Bounce! We bounced, laughed and bounced and laughed. It is like we time-travel back to our childhood! Do you know that we went for a dodgeball competition with kids? Haha! Lots of fun!

We checked out the extreme park. And yes! I found out that it is an extreme one!!! Jump here, reach there, swing out and slide! I am overwhelmed with it. It is ninja-like or takeshi castle thingy. Haha.

We went back to bounce out the trampoline. What can I say? I love the feeling of "flying"! Haha.

We shall return!!! Ooppps, before I forgot.. My body ached for two days because of this activity. It only means that this is a good and enjoyable exercise for everyone.

Monster Curry Singapore at 313@Somerset

ABBEY: This place reminds me of a sad moment as my then girlfriend will leave Singapore after a month of visit. But the good thing is, we had good food at Monster Curry at 313@Somerset (Food Republic).

So we visited it again. At less than 15sgd,  I got a large portion of chicken with matching dark Japanese curry sauce. Combining each bite with white rice and my hunger is solved. The curry sauce's spiciness is just the right amount; not too salty nor bland.

WILL: January 2010, it was the end of my 2-month vacation here in Singapore. We spend our afternoon on a movie date and I craved for Japanese food back then and we found this great place in 313@Somerset. That was the 2nd saddest parting we have. That spot. It was all clear. The teary eyes and emotional voice.

After 4 years, we re-visited the place, now with a full smile. We see things brighter. We just reminisce the past and now putting an end of that sad part and replacing it with a great happiness. We well appreciate now the view of passing pedestrians and vehicles from level 5 of this building. We are so happy.

I ordered pork katsu. I love the taste but it would be lovelier if they have a wasabi. The serving is too big, I ate the ¾ and the rest was covered by husband.

This place is recommendable for a great food, great view and affordable price.

Ramen Ten Restaurant - Singapore's First & Most Popular Halal Japanese Restaurant

ABBEY: I began to like sushi when Wilma told me to try it. We had a couple of visits on sushi bars but this is the first time on Ramen Ten . The diner is located at Level 1 of Far East Plaza in Scotts Road. This was an online group discount promo which costs $17.90. The promo consists of a bowl of ramen, a choice of your drink, and buffet of sushi (white plates only). We didn't expect the bowl of ramen that big. I almost not able to finish it. Actual price is not more $10 each bowl. I ate a lot of inari, and egg sushi as I was allergic to prawn. Its sad that the torched salmon belly is not served on a white plate else I could have eaten only those. You can also ask the chef to make you made-to-order sushi, white or any colored plate.

WILL: Abbey is a type of guy that will go for the "usual", he doesn't hate new things but he  will always choose the things he used to do, places he used to go and restaurants he used to dined, that's why I am very surprised that he asked me out and to have lunch at the Ramen Ten at Far East Plaza. Of course, I affirmed the invitation of my husband.
It is a rainy sunday, when we go to Orchard to taste and be merry with sushi. It was located just in front of Royal Plaza on Scotts Road, so you will never get wrong on this mall.
As we enter, the crew immediately offered us a seat and we chose to seat at the counter. They informed us that we can only eat the sushis on white plates. I tried one of their sushi but it I don't like the taste of their rice, it seems the sushi is out there in the conveyor for quite some time. The rice is too hard and too cold. :( so we decided to take our ramen, included to the voucher that Abbey bought from StreetDeal. We were both shocked with the serving size of their complimentary ramen, it can occupy two rumbling tummies. The soup and noodles was so fine and delicious.
To stop my frustration on their conveyor sushi, I decided to give it a try on their famous spicy sushi (included in the deal), spicy prawn and spicy tofu, oishi! On the Nigiri set, I asked for spicy squid tempura and ebi fried sushi.
Overall I am so delighted to try this restaurant, for sure this is on my list for a spicy sushi and ramen cravings.

FHM Models 2012 Finale Night

ABBEY: We got VIP tickets for this event. The venue is at the TAB at Orchard Hotel. A separate queue for VIP were given (wow, this is great). It's different in the negative side because first we didn't get the voting stickers; second if Wilma did not ask for the Triumph goodie, she won't have it.

My DSLR was in the baggage counter as I was informed that NO DSLR will be used in the event except for the official photographers. As soon as the models walked the runway I saw 4-5 DSLRs taking snaps of the sexy ladies. I even asked one of the bouncers and replied that it can't be used (How's that?). Event started an hour behind the appointed time, but worth the wait when contestants 1,2,7 and wait are on the ramp. My bet is Melody; she got 2 awards (Paul Mitchell's Mane Event and Most Curvaceous body) but a rank shorter for the title. Two free drinks were given. TAB's fries tastes good also. We enjoyed our pose and pics in their photo booth courtesy of Foto Affairs. Congratulations, Jamie Ang.

WILL: I am one of the 5 very lucky winners of Durex Singapore Facebook contest and on that they gave me a pair of VIP ticket to TAB for FHM 2012 Finals.
We queued for almost half an hour, we got our four stabs for free cocktails/soft drinks and a stamp on our wrist. I got a small box of condom and a sample of Play O from Durex. Abbey was not given neither. Haha. Triumph gave every guest a bag with pamphlets, vouchers and an underwear mold in to a rose. Before entering the second floor, there is photobooth. We got two pictures of it. :) 2 steps away, there's board where you can vote for the girl you are rooting for, but hey people from the ticket booth do not gave us stickers for voting. Darn! Tsk! Oh, I am rooting for Kitty.
730-9:30pm is the stated time that was stated on the ticket but the show started only at 9pm. Its a cocktail style party, so obviously, no chairs. Imagine how hard to stand from 730-9pm on heels? I even saw some ladies just took off their shoes and stand barefoot. Ha! I sipped one cocktail and a soda, we ordered bottled water for $6 and the french fries is $8.
When the party started, all the boys get wild, and ahm, me too. Specially when Kitty hit the pole at the stage. Haha! I admire her attitude. She is so hot! Anyway, Jamie won the title, Melody the 1st runner up and my Kitty is the 2nd :(
Thanks Durex, this is an experience that we will never forget.
